Jenni McGinnis


Jennifer McGinnis is a versatile performer with extensive experience in several genres, including opera, and musical theatre. She graduated with a Bachelors of Music Degree from The Catholic University of America, as well as her Masters of Arts in Vocal Performance Degree from George Mason University.

Ms. McGinnis is also a certified vocal instructor in Montgomery County, Maryland, having received her National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Certification. She has had a long teaching career which started during her studies at The Catholic University and continues today.

Ms. McGinnis is an operatic soprano, and has performed with several companies, including as the Reunion Music Society, Summer Opera Theatre Company, Multimedia Performance Studio, Victorian Lyric Opera Company, and the Damascus Theatre Company. Her performances include the role of Kim in the east coast premiere of Opera.com.edy, Musetta in La Bohème, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Carrie in Carousel, and Gianetta in The Gondoliers. She also created the role of Lust in The Blue Opera, and starred in that role for its world premiere.

Ms. McGinnis has also served as music director for several productions, including Alice in Wonderland with Damascus Creative Stage, Sweeney Todd, The Mikado, and Les Miserables with Montgomery Blair High School, a musical production of A Midsummer Night's Dream with DTC Kids, and Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr. and Disney’s Cinderella Jr with Ballet Petite.

Ms. McGinnis also has strong ties to the community and serves as the Co-Conductor of the Kentlands Children’s, Teen, Glee and Adult Choirs, in Gaithersburg, MD. She is also a board member of the Damascus Theatre Company in Maryland.
